Try using PHP 5.3, I recall having a similar error when using 5.4 with MAMP.

Can you find out what the specific error was in your server's error log/php log? That would help us identify the problem so that we can work towards a solution.

Hi, sorry for my bad english.

Currently I have this problem due to recent change on radioactivity module (see: #1877954: PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ';')

This patch should solve the recently created problem

Bug #1877954: PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ';' is fixed upstream... so I close this issue

For the OP, if your problem still exist, reopen this issue and add information from error log.

P.S. Thanks for Drupal Commons... is awesome.
