Hi!

Having a problem with the Event Module. I think it's a great module but I'm struggling with some features.

I'm writing some nodes "Storys" that are not events. So I don't need to put a date in. But the Module forces all nodes to have a date. There no Opt out or in check box. If I don't put a date it warns me to put a date in. I think this should be simple thing to implement.

I don't want normal "non-dated" nodes to show in the calendar so I have to put all nodes back in 1970.... makes no sense.

I've also have some nodes that are events and those work fine, since I put the date in.

I've also had to go change the Code to the fact it populates all my Nodes and RSS with Start and End date with no option to remove it. I think this should be an option in the Admin panel.

PS: I've a Travel portal. And I write articles for News and Places with (Not events) and then some articles are Popular events.

Thanking you in advance.

If you edit the content type(s) in question and set their Event calendar setting to Never, you shouldn't have that problem.

Thank you oadaeh. I Understand that. I've realised that now I have Nodes Story types and node Event types.

So the solution would be to set "Event calendar setting to Never" in Stories. And use the Node Event type for events.

I'll still not sure if that solution will break any RSS Feed or setting I've in place in the Site. Since all the site works around about Story Node Types.

Would not be a better solution to just allow us to choose inside each Node Type Story if it's an Event or not? Probably would be just another row in the DB table a check box in the Edit Story panel.

But then that now it's a feature request. So I've changed the "Category".

Thank you.
