In recruiter module -> job -> job types (link ) -> manage fields.
In manage fields there is already Select list with data stored in database.
When change select list option it said data already in database , can't update.

you can only change the widget type as soon as there are some jobs stored (and some other settings like description, etc.). otherwise you can even change the whole field.
