Incompatability with Contact Form Field Module

I have been using the contact form module. (the version i have installed is 6.x-1.14 but that was not a choice on the version drop down) I have wanted to add a phone number field to my contact form/s.

The Contact Form Field Module will do it - but a problem crops up with the form/s created by this - The Contact Form Module.

The problem is that the contact forms created by this module
1 . moves the "subject" field to the bottom of the form.
2. moves the form instructions from the top of the form to the bottom of the form just above the subject field.

and the author of the Contact Form Field Module says:

This is about 'contact forms' and not about 'contact' module itself.
Let me explain,
'Contact forms' splits the form based on the category and it does not know about 'Contact form fields' module. To display all the fields added using contact form fields, the 'contact forms' module has to look in the table of contact form fields module. So, I believe, there a patch or two required in 'contact forms' rather in 'Contact form fields'.

Is a patch to fix this possible?

It sure would be great if these tow awesome modules played well together.
