Why Drupal was chosen: 
  • Drupal is the most flexible CMS I know!
  • For me as a designer/themer it is very easy to develop "nice" Themes
  • The Commerce Module is very very powerfull and I don't know anything which would be impossible to do with :)
  • The big, nice and very friendly community which helps and supports
  • Wide variety of contributed modules
  • ...
Describe the project (goals, requirements and outcome): 

I made this eCommerce site in 2011 with drupal 7 and the Commerce Module. All in all I've worked ~4-5 years with drupal before. In fact of doing this in my freetime and without a special timeline it took round about 5month to launch the site. But I'm working alone at the root-Server, the webdesign, the php, html,...things, other things... my normal fulltimejob and social life... so 5 month is pretty good, I think!

Special Thanks to the great community where I found a lot of help!

The goal is/was to provide a easy-to-use shop for the customers with a nice design that reflects the style of the products.

All in all: Drupal and Commerce are working (nearly) out of the box. It depends on your store how many other modules you need or what you want to do with. Please ask in the comments if you have any questions!

See above: Drupal and the Commerce Module are working so powerful and are so flexible that I dont have any big Problems. Look at the Commerce-Module-Page or at the site from the commerceguys to see all modules which can extend the Commerce Module! I think every single shop has its own requirements.
