I have no idea why 'Append a separator to the end of the breadcrumb' is by default true, when the option 'Append the content title to the end of the breadcrumb' is not enabled by default. This means that for every site, then the default is to have breadcrumbs that look like Home › Section › Page › which looks very strange.

I must stop, and post here because I think the separator
at bread-crumb end should be the default.

I do agree that it is unusual, but it is a brilliant way
to inform visitors
that the last link in the bread-crumb is the parent
of the present page.

Yes the historical normal is not to have the separator at the end,
but upon first visiting another person's site
I, at times, never know whether their final bread-crumb link
is to a parent page,
or is a link to the same gd (*1) page.

Brilliant: separator at end as default.

The visitors know precisely
that they are going to leave the present page
for a higher level page
when the separator is the tail-end trailing item.

(*1) ..or Ala, as opposed to God, if you are east of the international date-line.

I have to agree with Dave on this. I always have to disable this option because I think it's unusual to have a trailing separator. As Chris stated "Yes the historical normal is not to have the separator at the end" so why not cater to what has historically been normal while still allowing the developer choose to enable the trailing separator (no offense Chris).

I also agree with Dave and the "historical normal", I disable this option every time. If it's an edge case, which it seems to be on many sites I've worked on or seen, then it shouldn't be default. Retaining the option to enable it should still satisfy those who want it.

If there are no objections to this, I will commit the change.
