Related to #1765820: Add additional checks to the "Test connection" button, it would be great for debugging purposes if Acquia Search specific connection tests could be added to the connector. For example, if the ping fails, initiate some tests to see if the SSL peer validation fails, whether a timeout has been reached, or whether DNS resolved search.acquia.com and what addresses it resolved to, just to name a few off the top of my head. Marking as postponed until the upstream issue is resolved.

This branch of Acquia Connector is no longer supported, per the version policy on the project homepage. As such, I'm tentatively closing this issue.

If this issue still applies to a supported branch (currently 7.x-3.x, 8.x-1.x, or 8.x-2.x), please reopen and select the new target version. Thanks!
