The site is running a vanilla Drupal 7 (upgraded from 5 -> 6 -> 7) version, added are some custom modules like pathauto, and also some inhouse development is done to integrate some features. Next year (or season), which means 2012/2013, we will implement Drupal Commerce as primary ticketsalessystem.

Why Drupal was chosen: 

Because of the flexibility of the framework, the modules (ranging from meeting-arrangements to fullblown e-commerce), and the fact that the performance of great works of art lends itself very well for being communicated by an open and free (as in speech) medium!

The project, or choir, has been established to perform the works of Johann Sebastian Bach (and/or his collegue composers) on frequent bases in the Netherlands and abroad.

Because of their unique usability, MAYO is a theme which can be customized even by a technically less established site manager, Commerce just hits the spot when it comes to e-commerce, and metatags are just plain necessary.
