So, both functions disappeared somewhere between 4.5 and current.
I see that they are simple wrapper methods for module_invoke_all() calls but shouldn't a API change be reflected at least by CVS comments?

Despite the fact that is seems wrong (my xtemplate based theme does not show top navigation links anymore), I think that filtering the module link by a function (the link hook) it damn useful. I'm building my top menu based upon user rights (some checks in the link hook of each of my enabled modules)... now how can I do it?
