I'm running D 7.14.

I installed Renderable Elements 7.x-1.0-alpha1 hoping to clean up and reorganize the User Edit page (user/123/edit).

When I went to the /user/123/edit page for my account, I see the "+ Manage form display" link.

The first time I clicked it that modal window came up to select which items I want. I did, and I hit the "Continue" button, and the modal changed to a blank screen with just the text "Build is empty." All you can do is close the modal. So I did. Then clicking "+ Manage form display" again brings back up the same "Build is empty." message.

When I go to Admin/Structure/Renderable Elements, the page says "No builds found." So I can't unregister anything.

I tried disabling the module and then turning it back on... The database obviously remembers what I attempted, because "Build is empty" is all I get for that page now.

I just tried a full uninstall. Deleted the "rel" folder from the module directory. Reinstalled. Went back to the page to Manage Fields, and still get the "build is empty".

Issue summary: View changes

I had the same issue with all of the version of the module. I did a LOT of trouble shooting and found that another one of my modules names "google chat" was causing the issue. just disabled it and everything works again. then after I do what I need I can turn it on again with no issues. Since it happened with one module I can image it could happen with others as well. I would say go and disable a few modules and then try again. keep doing so until you find out what one is causing the issue then post it here. After a new are posted here we can come up with what exactly is causing the issue.
