Allow visibility of group to be controlled, without affecting items in field.

I've seen requests that if a field group be hidden, that all fields within the group also be hidden.

I'm working on a site now where it would be useful to have the group box hidden (to anonymous users), but allow the fields within to remain viewable (I'm using nodeprofile to create complex profiles, some of which are collected on the registration form). The group boxes make the registration form rather wonky, and are not necessary at registration, though they make the real node pages themselves much nicer (at least for my purposes - YMMV). It would be great if it were possible to have the group boxes be hidden, but the fields within still visible.

Would that be complicated to implement, or too-seldom-needed for inclusion?
