We might need to do include_once DRUPAL_ROOT . '/includes/language.inc'; explicitly, in _commerce_kickstart_setup_localization().
I wonder why the error didn't happen for me on commercestratus...

This was NO DEMO CONTENT + Enable translation.

Just don't enable "Localization" for now and you will be able to install normally.

I receive the same error - it seams, the translation interface is not done yet ;-)

But as far as I can see, the install process looks nice, which is important for plain users.

The environment is huge. Some further Info on how to handle these numourous modules, would be helpful.

Same error with or without Demo Store. It seems to depend only on enabling translation.

Suggestion: remove the possibility to chose 'Enable translation' until it is solved. This way everyone will be able to run the install and test the CK. Later on, in case it is needed (my case), developers will most probably install the Commerce set of modules from scratch.
