Suddenly stopped working on all of my 7 sites, without any change of configuration.
Only (AJAX) shown instead of number.

This has to do with Google phasing out OAuth1 support in favour of OAuth2

See #1678306: Add Support for OAuth2 Authentication for a potential patch. It is for 6.x, but can be reworked for D7

yaho, thanks for your report. You're the first user I know of to exceed the quota limits, so congrats. :-)

The good news is Google has agreed to raise our quota once we implement OAuth 2. Since we have an ongoing issue for that I'm marking this as a duplicate.

Just to confirm, we had the same issue starting August 1st, but in the end the feature was not needed and scrapped it.
Will keep an eye on the other issue.
