I would like to place this in a field collection field.

Will this module pull in the proper node ID?

I don't think that this would work properly as the piwik field is attached to the collection-entity and not the node-entity. Therefore it would try to collect statistics for the url of the collection-entity - but collection entities don't have a path.
Therefore, nope, I don't think this would work
