Where can I define exceptions

Enabled Advanced field set
I added a contextual field (content id)
I checked the following:
Override title
Override breadcrumb
Specify validation criteria

where do I goto actually specify each?

I don't see a popup or field labeled "exception" or anything else.

i am probably looking in the wrong section.
