Translated strings using the i18n menu module aren't showing

When using the normal Drupal menu I see translations for the each menu item having entered them at:

/admin/structure/menu/item/2123/translate

These aren't full menu items, just translated strings for the title and descriptions.

Where I use the same menu under menu-block, I only ever see the English menu item names, but the links correctly point to the localized versions.

Has anyone else ran into this issue?
