If you set the field display to hidden it will move down to the hidden section and you can save the page.
However, after re displaying the "Manage Display" tab, the hidden field is back at the same position it was before and is not set to hidden.

This is caused by the "Administration Language" module.

I am seeing this problem in 7.x-2.dev and beta3. I don't have "Administration Language" module installed.

@taitai, do you have link or reason that this module was causing the problem. I might be able to figure out what other module might be causing this if I new how that module was affecting it.

I did confirm that can hide other fields on the same "manage display" page. Others works
