Red Squirrels Northern England (RSNE) is a new red squirrel conservation partnership project that works to protect red squirrel populations in northern England.
Flexibility and ease to develop with.
We worked alongside RSNE to replace their ageing website and redirect it to the current URL. The previous site was not as user-friendly as RSNE would have liked, and they also wanted to improve the navigation, group relevant content together and enable users to submit information on red squirrel sightings in the north of England.
We worked up a new design to increase awareness of RSNE conservation efforts and encourage more people to participate. We added functionality to enable visitors to submit sightings of red and grey squirrels.
We incorporated a highly visible Google map to show all of the red squirrel sightings in northern England.
The results:
- Increased audience participation and site usage
- More time spent per visitor on the site
- Easier content management
- More flexibility: Drupal CMS allows for future development
Technical specifications

Never thought I'd use the phrase, but... "Up the Reds!"
Nicely implemented website. Looks good.
