Just curious what is needed to get to the next alpha or a beta release, and in a broader sense - what is needed to get to a stable 1.0 release?

I'm trying to use this module for several projects (in many projects it is important to the deployment process) but I'm hitting problems and I'm not really sure where the best place to start might be.

Beta 1 will be released in the coming weeks. We are performing thorough testing before we cut the new release. Even without the "1.0" label this module has been very stable for a long time.
