I’ve run into some issues with comment viewing and permissions in a Drupal node. I have commenting enabled on a node, and in Permissions both 'View comments' and 'Post comments' are checked for anonymous viewers. But after a comment has been approved, you can only see the comment listed on the node page if you are 'logged in'. When you log out, you can't see any comments for the node.

I've run 'rebuild permissions' a few times without any change.

After experimenting more with the permissions, I found that by giving anonymous users the permission to 'Administer comments and comment settings', they could then see the comments listed in the node. But, of course, this breaches all sorts of security issues.

Anyone know of why Drupal wouldn't show the node comments to anonymous users, unless they have this admin permission?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!

I am experiencing the same.. I don't think it a theme issue., since I see the same with Acquia Marina
