hi Micheal Cole and Mike Stewart
I'd like to offer some financial sponsorship for work to get the BOA Platform (Aegir LEMP stack) integrated into Drupal Quickstart
the BOA platform now has a supported _EASY_LOCALHOST=YES option on VirtualBox and handles installation and upgrades of dozens of Drupal platforms
http://drupal.org/project/barracuda
http://drupalcode.org/project/barracuda.git/blob/HEAD:/README.txt
there is already a VirtualBox BOA image available which is excellent Debian LEMP stack, but it needs either an upgrade or a rebuild to be in sync with the latest BOA easy install and meta-installer, its platforms/distributions are older
Drupal Quickstart has great development environment and tools set-up, but comes with only basic Drupal distributions etc
if BOA could be merged with Drupal Quickstart it would be the ultimate in Drupal DEVOPS

a much earlier post about this is Quickstart for BOA ? Local to Production Pipeline
http://groups.drupal.org/node/160449
message me to discuss
THANKS

mike stewart CreditAttribution: mike stewart commentedI've forked Quickstart to http://drupal.org/project/drupalpro -- which is based on Ubuntu 12.04 Unity. It's main focus is to support the needs of professional drupal work-flows.
I'm very open to building it out to be based on something like Vagrant + chef that supports something like: a tool-chain from DrupalPro [DEV] > VBOA [STAGING] (+ Jenkins)> BOA [PRODUCTION]
Ultimately I'd like DrupalPro to be Desktop & Distro agnostic, so you can run Gnome, KDE, XFCE, etc on Debian/Ubuntu/Fedora/CentOS, etc.
Please contact me if you're serious about helping make this happen.

I am not sure how this would work, but I'd like a way to be able to use the platforms/distro's in the VBOA as base profiles for build-outs
