Just upgraded to dev version of 4th July to deal with the "event doesnt show in day view" issue, and that works great - however, the ical icon on the block view has gone missing.

I think I removed it on purpose because with the back/next navigation in the block and the possibly different view in the main calendar the results weren't always what they should be. So the ical link is only on the main calendar view and not in the block.

Maybe as things progress I'll see a way to put it back. Is it really a big problem if it is only visible on the calendar itself and not in the block?

no, no problem if its removed fromt he block. However, it seems to be gone from the main view.
