Save it
Customize it again and choose to change the style settings for the newly added pane
Change the style to 1 of the options available that would result in a change to the look and click update preview
The preview content will disappear
If the user saves the change their pane will also disappear from their site
user can exit out before saving changes to prevent

mobcdi CreditAttribution: mobcdi commentedThe terms I used might not be the correct values. The issue relates to adding new content and then changing the associated style for that pane of content. I've attached a before and after image of what i got when i switched the pane style for some content to "Grey Background callout pane style" and saved the changes. The text will disappear and using the customize UI its not possible to change it back. From looking at the page source the content is listed there, its just hidden or not selectable to change the pane style back.
The preview does reflect what will happen but the problem is its a 1 way trip and a user would have to recreate the content or swap the entire theme if they wanted to undo their change because the content isn't listed in customize page or surrounded by the "edit","style","delete" or move toolbar while in wireframe theme. It does re-appear if you change to another theme and from there its business as usual
