I'm a PHP developer and I'm planning to work in this module because I need for create a social network and it's amazing but some stuff aren't present like permissions for users or node or so on or at least I didn't know where the docs is or if exists any modules for this purpose so I was looking for a function to see if two users are friends or are related in some way but didn't find it. Don't know if exists but if not then could any developer create for use?

As you are a developer, if you are missing API's, you are welcome to help with development of this module. Note that I'd recommend to work with the 7.x version as the 6.x will probably not see many additional features.
