When trying to create a simple and straightforward UI for the end user/site owner it would be great if the 'view access' and 'edit access' tabs could be hidden from the UI.

Perhaps the visibility / availability could be linked to the 'administer Fieldabel panels panes' right?

Hm. Maybe its own permissions, but it needs to be gentler than the overall administer. Adding a new perm for this should be relatively easy though.
