I get this "recoverable fatal error" when clicked on "Save configuration" in theme settings of the subtheme of AT 7.x-3.0-alpha5 (see the attached graphic):

Recoverable fatal error: Object of class stdClass could not be converted to string in include_once() (line 85 of C:\Program Files\Apache2.2\htdocs\drupal7\sites\all\themes\adaptivetheme\at_core\inc\forms\at_core.submit.info.inc).

The error only appears on EXISTING Drupal installations (v. 7.12).
The older version of AT was properly uninstalled in admin (all the old files were even deleted), the cache was cleared, and the new AT reinstalled from scratch.

The error did NOT appear in NEW Drupal installations. Everything is ok in a new Drupal instance.

But, I would like to be able to upgrade and work on an existing install, so is there a manual workaround? (I don't mind going into the database to fix it if it is possible, if somebody tells me what to look for.) Thanks for a great theme.

Can you try the DEV version please and see if you still get the error, its a very strange error to get.

Do me a favor, zip this existing installation and put it somewhere for me to download, because I cannot reproduce this. I am running this theme all day everyday for the past 6 weeks working on it and never encountered such an error (if I did I would certainly not commit it to GIT, lol), that code, the submit features for the auto-generated info file, has been in for quite a few weeks and no one else is reporting this, so.... changing to support request, sorry, cannot reproduce, has to be something in your install, which of course I cannot know about unless I can see it.

Leaving active.

Clenaing up, sorry, I was never able to reproduce the issue.

The latest dev of June 19, 7.x-3.0-rc4+1-dev , fixes the problem (whatever it was). AT is getting better and better everyday. Marked as fixed.

Hate to post behind a closed message, but I have a complicated site that I can't really recreate from scratch and they want a custom header from the Noggin hook. The newest drush dl I can get is 7.x-3.0-rc1 and the problem continues there. According to a post above:

The latest dev of June 19, 7.x-3.0-rc4+1-dev , fixes the problem

But I have no idea how to get this loaded. drush only wants to install the latest version and I keep getting rc1 over and over again but it appears I need a newer release candidate. How do I get this newer release candidate installed - or when do you envision having the newer release candidates available to drush or the Drupal project page?

By the way, I keep offering other themes to folks, but everyone loves your theme as much as I do, so I use it alot. Thank you for the effort that you put in on this - it really rocks.

Recoverable fatal error: Object of class stdClass could not be converted to string in require_once() (line 128 of /var/www/drupal/sites/all/themes/adaptivetheme/at_core/inc/forms/at_core.submit.info.inc).

replying to my own post. i took the image that was causing the problem and moved it to the same folder location as the pixture_reloaded test-960-banner.png (in header-images folder) and was able to use it. not sure what the issue root is but that worked around it at least. i'm on drupal 7.17 BTW.

OK, lets open this up again and see what might be going on.

I am getting this problem too. I've tried upgrading to the newest dev... no go, this is when you try to upload a custom header image.

Same problem when trying to upload an image. I have:
Drupal 7.21
adaptivetheme 7.x-3.1
pixture_reloaded 7.x-3.0-rc1
noggin 7.x-1.1
