Clean install of OE using the profile is fails on any app install attempt, both as part of the installation process and after. The progress bar seems to be successful for both downloads and installs, but then I get an access denied error on:

"admin/apps/levelten/app/enterprise_images/enable"

...note: that URL changes based on the app I'm trying to download, obviously.

There's also a confirmation (green check marked message) above it: "Updates downloaded successfully."

I'm logged in as the admin user (the only user) as part of the site installation, and I seem to have admin permissions to do other things on the installation.

Does this happen with a particular app or all apps?

I get the access denied message on every app. Fresh install using WAMP as a dummy server to get a working site before go live.

On events, faq, forum, images, links, rotating banner, seo essentials, seo tools, social media, videos and webform, I get the updates downloaded successfully and then seem to be able to use those content types and apps after that.

Blogs shows as enabled but I cannot post blogs or access default content. I get database errors when I try.

Careers, location and portfolio all fail to download. The error message is "Failed to download enterprise_appname from" and nothing else.

Development gave me an Ajax error.

Please ensure that mamp has write access to the directories. If you are receiving a permissions error that is most likely the cause. Since apps are downloading module files and installing them on your server it must have the ability to write them.

All of the directories are in the wamp directory. How can wamp not have write permission in wamp?

Also doesn't explain why some apps don't download at all.

Some of the apps are currently broken. We haven't had time to fix them yet but will try to shortly.

Can you then state that on your site or somewhere not buried in Google so poor unsuspecting souls such as myself don't bother downloading a broken profile?
OR post the modules/features/apps somewhere else for individual install. (Yes I know *some* of them are on the project page, but no _careers, _portfolio, _webforms).

*postponed ? So should we just assume that development on this project is not really active?

Can we get a

"quick status update"

on which apps are still broken on install please? Would be very helpful in finding a work around. I am currently having issues with Variable and Variety modules and anything to do with multi-lingual core elements support.

I am running Premium Bluehost package at the moment. I get the same error with the aforementioned, no matter how I choose to run my install. I have tried with MySQL, PgPHP.

I haven't been able to connect the DB so far, I will keep updating my results.

By "currently broken" you mean never worked to begin with.

I agree that some notification of what is going on with the apps would be appropriate.

looks like another issue queue is opened for the FTP problem. #1540022: Unable to recover from FTP errors on a fresh install

I changed the read+write permissions of the group and other for sites/all/modules and that worked for me.
