Lightbox trigger to open group of images from single image field

Hello,

I have a lightbox trigger from a thumbnail in a view which opens images in a multiple image filed in my custom content type. Instead of the usual lightbox handling of multiple images (ie single image displayed at a time and navigation buttons to move between the multiple images) I get a lightbox frame which has all the images displayed at once (with scroll bars to see them all)

...click on the bird image and you get two images on the same screen - another bird and a yacht.

How do I configure lightbox trigger to launch the normal multiple image 'gallery' that I would normally get from a group of images in a single field?
