I can't find a thread where this is talked about for version 7, but I can see this problem has been going back to drupal 5. I am using advanced forum and content access. On the main forum screen the counts for the Topics and Posts columns are all doubled for people who are not an admin. Is there a fix for this in Drupal 7?

I know this is a duplicate but I am on a painfully slow connection and can't search right now. I suggest searching a bit first and I'm sure you'll find it. I believe it was a bug in core, but can't swear to it.

Either way, the first thing is to test with AF disabled and see if the problem persists.

#1241854: Any Updates on Incorrect Number of Posts Patch for Drupal 7 (in the presence of node access modules)? and #113611: Forum count incorrect when using access control modules are what I was thinking of. Looks like it's a core issue.
