When I display the month view of the calendars in a site I like to let them take up the entire width of the site (remove the sidebars). I really don't know what the best way to do this is.
Is there an easy way to check the view type of a page from the page.tpl.php file?
Or is there a way to use a custom page-____.tpl.php file for rendering calendar views?
Any other solutions?
Thanks

When you put a block into a sidebar, you can identify that it should or should not appear in different places. You could keep it from showing up in the calendar view by saying you do not want it to show up in calendar*, for instance, if 'calendar' is the path that takes you to your calendar.
