I've used the tables.module in 4.7 and am trying to move up to 5.1 but found out that there is no tables.module yet. The last feature request that I have seen from the tables.module page at drupal.org was posted more than a year ago. Is there a plan to get this module for 5.1? It is very useful as my users have been used to it as they extensively publish data in table form and they are not into (some of them hate) tag scripting specifically the table tags.

And while I am at it already, let me also ask if there will be a filter for creating lists, specifically, nested lists, with similar tags as the tables filter (for obvious usability reasons). Something like this:

[ordered-list=css-style
item 1
item 2 [unordered-list=css-style
  item a
  item b
  ...
  item x
]
...
item n]

Module writers, anyone?

Thanks!

That is an interesting concept for a filter (unfortunately my plate is full for the moment). However I do know that there is at least one module that allows filtering of meta-HTML; I just can't remember what it is at the moment.

I'm not familiar with the Tables module. Are you sure it wasn't replaced/obsoleted by the TAPIr module? There is an article on converting modules from 4.7 to 5.x if you want to tackle the upgrade on your own.
