As described in http://drupal.org/node/1272886#comment-5026974, I customized all the triggered rules to have the stream in Italian. Now, with Commons 2.4 I tried to come back to the standard configuration of this module/feature.
To do it, after the upgrade to 2.4, I uninstalled and re-installed

  • Activity Log Diget
  • Activity Log
  • Rules

Before and after the re-installation of these module I had to disable and enable all the dependencies in other modules (see ReinstallSteps.txt

After these steps I needed to configure OrganicGroup because the settings for the content type where lost (admin/og/og): was missing the content type with usage = Group node and many of the standard group post where set to "May not be posted into a group"

A second problem was about the PrimaryLinks Menu that was damaged. This problem may be is related with #1413120: Upgrade DC: Feature that "Needs review" because many of the Feature that after upgrading are marked as "Needs review" report changes on "Menu links"

I fixed these two problems manually but, may be, they would fix simply reverting the Features that needed review. Would they?
And then, how many hiddend problems could be present in my Commons web site, after disabling and enabling, uninstalling and re-installing all these modules?

What I can say is that, at least, the Activity stream now works fine. After re-installing, and before translating the rules, I cleared all message caches and regenerated the log and my Actity Stream was correctly presented - in English - also if the default language is Italian.
Then I translated the rules, regenerate everything, and now I have the Stream in Italian, using the standard configuration.

A last problem is now present in the stream, but I don't think is related to what is described in this post: some of the pictures of the members are normal and some - also of the same member - are smaller. Not a big problem.

Thanks, works smoothly.
You came to my rescue after a standard update broke the streams again.
