For Drupal deployment into Production, which version does everyone recommend ->> Drupal 4 or 4.01 ?? Is 4.01 stable yet ? and does it work with all the additional modules (Private Messaging)?

You must be confusing 4.0.1 and 4.1.0
4.0.1 (and 4.0.2) were minor bugfix versions for 4.0.0

Official stable version is now 4.1.0
I has some minor issues and they are worked on, probaly ending up a 4.1.1 version.

Unstable version can be found on CVS. It will probably named 4.2.0, but this has not been decided yet.
