The abundance of embed.ly providers makes some URL checking tasks really burdensome. There's absolutely no need for this, although it is simpler.
Providers are really about endpoints, and the provider's schema should identify all URL patterns that are supported by that endpoint. The content of the Embed.ly provider's schema property should be configured in a nice way with checkboxes or something.
This issue is meant to solicit feedback on this idea and to review the patch.

Dave ReidYeah I totally agree that this is something that should be prioritized and would help simplify setup for end-users. I'll try and help out this weekend with a patch and/or reviews.
