Hi, I must admit that I'm getting very confused about Drupal. I guess there's something very basic I just didn't understood yet.

On the Homepage, I would like to have a custom page containing HTML ( page Content) and have the other half used by Gallery. I hope this question sounds very stupid to all of you, and helping me will be easy, cause I'm about to give in to the programmers who just want to do everything without using a CMS. This is kind of a proof of concept thing and rendering the graphic designer's wishes, is a conditions of success.

Thanks a lot for your help

With Panels you can fill predefined layouts with different kinds of content.
Views.module lets you define those chunks of content.

Thanks Yoroy for your help. I installed Panels, Views was already installed. I played a bit with it, using it with pages, adding blocks and views, and it worked. So, I moved to the server where the Gallery is installed (since it's not installed on my local machine). I did the same thing will with most types of content, but it didn't work with gallery, no block coming from the gallery was showing. I tried creating a new view using /gallery has the url and it failed too.

Is there any issue that you know of when trying to use Panels with Gallery.

Thanks for your help.

I am assumingy ou mean Gallery2 ? and not the built in image_gallery in the image.module if you want your images open to views and panels, you have to use the image.module and avoid Gallery2. Otherwise if you are intent on using Gallery2 as your image module, you may want to poke around the Gallery2 forums to see if there are snippets there or coding hints as to how to draw from the G2 database using PHP.

I've been using acidfree.module for image galleries, when I looked at Gallery it looked/felt very bloated.
Just recently a dev. version of Acidfree 5.x was released, might want to check it out.
