OneTwoTait CreditAttribution: OneTwoTait commentedThere's a great image on http://www.symphonythemes.com/drupal-blog/5-best-drupal-slideshows
A picture is worth a thousand words.

ganagus CreditAttribution: ganagus commentedI also would like to contribute a demo site here: http://ganagus.com, and the documentation on how to make it here: http://ganagus.com/articles/views-slideshow-custom-controls-and-pager.
Feedback welcome! Thanks..

JamesOakleyThere is a link in the project information sidebar block to http://www.drupalmultimedia.org/slideshow - but that is not currently loading.

NickDickinsonWildeI'll remove that old link, thanks for reporting James.
Demo linked above is also dead. I'd like to put a few examples up - so if anyone knows an example that looks good (or until I have say half a dozen, any examples), let me know and I'll get some up.

JamesOakleyThe site I've used the module on is https://www.mandel.org.uk — but it may not be the best demo, as there's nothing fancy about what I've done. I've kept the default transition effect, and I decided it didn't suit the theme to have controls / widgets on there at all. The only tweak was delaying the first transition, so that a changing masthead doesn't distract a new visitor to the site the moment they arrive — start reading first, and then notice the slideshow taking place.

NickDickinsonWildewell two is better than nothing... put a twitter call out to see about getting more (and more interesting) but that's a start, thanks.
