A lot of people already asked me about Rules integration. Since this module really "falls" into Rules concept I think we should have it ASAP. I'll be working on it shortly.

My plan is to provide wrapper that would present:

  • "our" events as Rules events
  • "our" conditions as Rules conditions
  • and "our" engine/scheduler combination as Rules actions

This implementation would then allow people to use media_derivatives without configuration profiles, which is fine IMO. People will still have option to use them or to use Rules. Rules will not be a dependency for media_derivatives, so one could decide what to use for configuration.

We could also present our configuration presets to Rules as actions (something like: "Process file using configuration preset").

Any opinions or suggestions?
