Using OAuth module as API for client only

I'm working on a module to connect to the Piryx API using OAuth, and being new to oauth, am trying to figure the easiest way to do that authentication. I could manually do everything, but seeing this module, I'd rather not re-invent the wheel if I don't have to. It seems as though this module is designed for being a server, but all I need is to be a client (I have a custom form in a block that can be used to connect to Piryx for making donations). I'm reading through the code, but can someone help save me a little time and point me in the right direction if indeed it is possible to use this module as an API for just the client portion?
