It should be "File entity" instead (no capital "E" in "entity"). Please see here why: #1103208: Projects' names should be checked in .info files for correct capitalization.

PS: ...don't forget the project's name here in d.o. too ;)

i agree with michelle here. i could see some potential confusion down the road. i believe that we should revert this to capitalize File Entity.

I'm not sure what the confusion would be? Can you specify aaron?

The "File entity" standard was poorly thought through. As #1346158: Decide on coding standard for capitalization of module names [policy, no patch] explains, module names are "names of specific things" thus should be named in Proper Name Case, i.e. please revert to "File Entity".

I don't agree that it's a proper name though. It's not a brand and entities are a generic concept in Drupal.

I still believe it should be up to the maintainers. I just posted the link for information because the original issues telling everyone to change their names is out of date (I won't get into the argument over whether it was ever accurate as it's moot, now, that the standard is clear and decided) At any rate, the standard doesn't take effect until D8 and, even then, it's a core standard and that's not generally forced on contrib even if highly encouraged. So, up to you.:)
