Google calender and colorbox

I read the documentations and as far as I see, the colorbox can be used only with drupal contents, and not with google calender items. Is that right?
I tried to add some other CSS fields (fc-event-default and fc-event-gcal and others from code) but nothing worked.
By clicking on Google Calendar events always a new window opens redirecting to google.
Can somehow the Google Calender and the Colorbox connected?
