Version: 6.x-1.1 » 7.x-1.x-dev

We have lots of features modules installed on out website, and have used the settings page to ignore all features modules. When we check for updates, all these ignored modules are also checked. The ignor flag seems to mark the results, but does not seem to stop the update module from checking every module for updates.

Not ignoring a security update even when version is ignored is there a way to do this?

Why would you ignore a version of a module if you do not actually want it to be ignored? For instance, if Foo 7.x-1.1 were a security update, why would you ignore version 7.x-1.1 if you wanted notifications for security updates?

I am wondering if you are really asking:
"Is there a way to ignore all updates for a module except security updates?"

Is that correct?

wylbur, I think this is a different issue. I'd suggest opening a new issue.

I am also confused as of how the "ignore" feature is meant to work, and if it contains a bug or is "by design".
My opinion is that this is currently at best confusing, but actually not working as "expected", logically, hence a "bug".

There is already a "major" bug report filed for this. See the related issue.

However, the title of _this_ issue is also confusing / not formulated clearly.

I think perhaps this issue is about a wish to initially get notifications about security releases, then when checking their release notes and determining that it is nor relevant or interesting for the site in question, then marking them as "ignored" should further prevent reporting that version. That is what I would like too.

In this respect, marking a module as "never inform" or "not version x", should have the same effect; stop informing specifically.

I would still like to see the version numbers listed on the modules page, but not as "alerts" when that particular version is set to be ignored, or not alert at all (with color background, etc.) for modules that is generally set to "never", regardless of version number.

Marking it tentatively as "fixed", as it is a support request and there is a similar discussion going on in the other issue. Feel free to re-activate or (better?) mark as "Duplicate" of the related "bug".

Actually, I am quite sure this is a duplicate, changing status.
