Hello everybody,

Myself am a practicing dental surgeon.

My current site is www.dentistrytoday.info . It is hosted on a shared server on www.rediff.com

Version 2 ( it has been made in DRUPAL) of the site is at a test server at:

http://passiond.www63.a2hosting.com/dental/front

dentistrytoday.info is a website only for practicing dental clinicians. It does not have too much of traffic on it. There are 481 registered users on it.

We want to make Version 2 live. My programmer says that he will keep the current site closed for about one and a half day and shift Version 2 from the test server to the server at rediff.com

To shift the data from the existing site (i.e dentistrytoday.info ) to the version 2 my programmer says that he wants a database of more than 2MB.

Rediff ( where I have booked server space ) that they can give only upto 2 MB space which they say is sufficient for the database of my size.

Still if you want to upload more data the programmers can use 3rd party database management tools.

I am stuck up in this technical terminology.

I solicit help. Please advise as to how to go about it.

Thanks in advance for all the help,

Regards,

Dr. Veerendra Darakh

Your site look professionally put together so why can your programmer not answer this for you or assist to resolve?

The 2MB restriction might be for file uploads not the size available for the database. This may restrict uploading the database through a web interface so your developer may be required to use a database management tool that connects to the host.

Either way I'd ask your programmer to sort out with the host. Or find a new programmer or host.
