I define a custom css class in basic settings of a view.
When I open a page view the class appears, but when I open a "node content" type view I the custom css class does not appear in the html source of the page.

What do you mean with a "node content" type view? You speak about the type on admin/build/views, right?

A page view is certainly something totally different. Perhaps it makes sense to provide an export to see what you actually did?
