@just_one_fix
1) Copy the page.tpl.php file from Marinelli base theme to your sub theme.
2) Copy the page.tpl.php file to page--front.tpl.php
3) Remove the banner image part from the page.tpl.php file of your sub theme.
4) Go to site Administration » Configuration » Development and clear the cache. You will see the banner only for front page.

it need copy js folder from marineli folder to subtheme folder. it doesnt work without.
