Similar issue here. Neither keywords or descriptions are being saved. Using 6.x-2.0-alpha1. It works fine on our staging server and does not work on our production site. Testing and looking at different versions to see if we can rollback or forward.

Update: we were using the Description and Keywords fields and chose "Always" under 'Use the default value' in the 'Meta tags enabled on other edit forms' section. When we changed the setting to "When the meta tag is empty", the values show up consistently during editing and browsing. We also noted that the data we entered during previous trials WERE being saved, and showed up once we changed the setting from Always to When the meta tag is empty.
