Uh Uh!!
I tried 10 times and still failed to set a "Path to custom logo".
Is it a relative path ?? Absolute path or a public URL ??
a quick look into code, seems like a path relative to public:// (Public file system path)

Thanks for this, I was drawing a blank trying every variation on paths relative to the current theme path, but (to me surprisingly) that's not right, it is - as you say - only relative to the public directory so...
sites/all/themes/jackson/images/myfavoritelogo.png
...works if you put your logo into the images folder of the contributed jackson theme, and put that theme in the right place for 7.x
Cheers,
John

sunThanks for taking the time to report this issue.
However, marking as duplicate of #1376166: Custom logo and favicon functionality inanely tries to support absolute local file paths. You may follow that issue to track its status instead. If any information from this issue is missing in the other issue, please make sure you provide it over there.
