I am absolutely loving drupal

Anyways im using drupal 4.4 and have the page node

Currently the page html title defaults to

like Bill Gates Joke | Fun Stuff Site

can i change this to
Fun Stuff Site: : Bill Gates Joke

Absolutely. Open themes/xtemplate/xtemplate.theme, go to line 166 and change the | to whatever character you desire.

For reference, this would be themes/engines/xtemplate/xtemplate.engine on line 124 with Drupal 4.5.

but wot i want is the path in my title
like Home: taxonomy info: page Title

i have $taxonomy variable in the theme but it renders it as &lta&gtcars&lta&gt

as i want to use this in html title i need pure text

there are some functions but they query the database

i need variables that i can put together to render Home: taxonomy info: page Title
