I would like to integrate as many of the meetup features as the API, and their terms of service, allow into my site. I don't have any idea exactly how much can be done with the API, but I'd like to bring users to my site and keep them there, without them having to go outside to meetup.com.
I've been unemployed for 8 months now. I can pay $200 for this, which is likely an insult to the developers. If so, I apologize.
The scope is simply that - the meetup api integrated as much as it allows. The minimum I would want is login, ability to view events, and RSVP capability. I'm not asking for front end appearance nor theming.
I was a project manager in a past life and will want to determine the exact scope with you and won't go beyond it without discussing cost. As long as it functions, and the people can use the API, I will be satisfied. I can tweak as needed once I have a foundation. I've dealt with enough clients that don't understand scope creep to have a strong desire not to be that person. I also created websites in a past life (back when it was far more simple) and have built to spec just to have someone want a 100% redesign for free. That isn't me. API functionality with meetup.com integrated into the site. That's it.

A few added details - the site is a non-profit site for fun. I organize a group of 200+ pilots on Meetup.com and schedule fly-ins all over California. Pilots fly to the airports, hang out, eat, meet new people. I've spent a fair amount of money on this for 3 years now on meetup, but there are some things members what that meetup just doesn't provide. Instead of rebuilding the wheel, I liked the site to work in coordination with meetup.
