I put a few fields in a fieldgroup and set the display style to vertical tabs. Does this mean that the fields should then show up with the other node settings that are in vertical tabs on the node edit form? It doesn't seem like anything changes on the node edit form after I put these fields in a field group. Am I missing something?

Two possibilities:
1) recommended working version:
vertial tab group
vertical tab1: fields
vertical tab2: fields

2) Experimental
vertical tab1: fields
(with the intention of nesting the vertical tab1 inside the addiotional_settings of core)

With the first group did, and after a few days later they were gone (there was only one). Very strange. Just disappeared as if he had them.

Stalkski, I'm not sure what you mean, can you explain a little further? Are you saying I should install the dev version?

@elly , well you said you have put fieldsets under vertical tabs: this is not correct. vertical tab group > vertical tab(s) is the way it should be used.

I really cannot reproduce this. Can someone indicate the use case and define it here?
Screenshots are attached to simply show you how it works.

Also the original case with a standalone vertical tab in the root results in putting that fieldset in the core vertical tabs "additional settings".

Thanks, I got this working - I didn't realize you had to add tab containers within a vertical tab container.
