When I attempt to create a .inc file for a views tpl.php file in the preprocess folder in my omega subtheme it does not get included. I'm using the following naming convention for the file...

When I create a similarly named function in my template.php it works great...

themename_preprocess_views_view_field__node_tasks__nid (&$vars)

Does this feature not work to preprocess views template files?

Yes you can, like so:

function MYTHEME_preprocess_views_view__my_term_search(&$vars) {
What ever you want to do....

Yeah I know I can do that in my template.php file. I was hoping that I could do it in a .inc file in order to organize things a bit better.

it is working in the tpl file, so nothing critical

the D6 version will soon be unsupported, and no new features will be added to it.

For new projects, D7 is the way to go. And a D6 subtheme can replace any template files markup to be HTML5/responsive/whatever.

Only a critical or security issue fix will ever go back to the D6 version.
